Overview
These BA programmes are part-time, evening (with some daytime options available), interdisciplinary degrees for mature applicants (21 years or older on 1 January in year of application). Applicants choose one of three degree options at the point of registration:

When you start at Maynooth University, you choose one of the degree options:
- BA Equality and Community Studies
- BA Adult, Community and Further Education
If you have previous learning, you can fast-track to the degree award through the University’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) system. This is a 4.5 or 6 year programme, with defined core modules. From year two onwards, you can choose from a range of optional modules. If you have been out of the education system for some time, you will benefit from dedicated study skills and student support throughout the degree.
These degrees are led by the Department of Adult and Community Education in collaboration with Maynooth University academic departments which may include:

- Centre for Irish Cultural Heritage
- Nua-Ghaeilge
- Focuses on community work, addiction and recovery, social justice, youth studies, development, adult education, politics, society and culture.
